Spring Fever...

I love spring... not quite as much as fall, but still, I love spring. I don't know if it's because it follows winter and I despise winter; but something about this time of year, the death throws of the dark, dreary, cold winter months makes me happy and optimistic. The last few days here in the valley have been very spring-like... Not warm and sunny with flowers blooming, that will still have to wait another month or so but March has its own distinct type of weather and I believe it has showed up a few days early just to humor me. The sky has been filled with a mix of beautiful blue sky and big threatening clouds - the ratio is always changing and you never really know what type of day will win out - beautiful and sunny or rainy and cloudy. The temperature has FINALLY climbed above freezing and we are spending most of our days in the high 40's and low 50's... The wind has definitely picked up (a trade mark of the Yakima Valley this time of year) and the air just smells cleaner and crisper than it did during the stagnant days in February. I love driving to work with the sunrise and coming home while there is still some light out - the days are starting to stretch and in a few short weeks we can change our clocks and take advantage of the daylight even more! I'm starting to wonder if I'm solar powered because as the daylight increases, so does my energy. I know this is a silly this to blog about, but in the midst of morning sickness and clothes that don't fit, I needed something like this to brighten my day...
