It all feels like a single heartbeat.

I have been avoiding the blog lately, blaming work, school, and life for being too busy to blog. The honest truth, that I know deep down in my heart is that I've been avoiding this post. I kept thinking that if I didn't write out the words "my baby girl is one today" that it wouldn't happen. I can't even comprehend how fast this last year has gone by - I think back to the night I went into labor, driving to the hospital with your daddy and realizing that in that moment we were going from a family of two to a family of three... laying there with you on my chest just after you were born and finding out for the first time what love at first sight really meant... laying awake at night just watching you sleep... calling the nurse for EVERYTHING because I was too scared to do something wrong.... driving home from the hospital a good 15 mph under the speed limit because we were terrified of every car on the road. I think back to those first nights at home, sleeping with the bathroom door open and the light on so we could see you because we were so scared that you would just disappear in the middle of the night. I remember all of it like it was yesterday. But then I look at you, smiling, clapping, walking, CLIMBING, and I realize it's been much more than that. How are you a toddler already?? This has been the best year of my life, and even though I'm sad it's gone by so quickly, I'm blessed to have been a part of it. You are my whole world baby girl... forever and for-always.
